STRIDE

STRIDE is a youth development program designed specifically for boys, typically in grades 3 through 8. Similar to Girls on the Run, STRIDE aims to promote physical fitness while also focusing on character development, self-esteem, and positive social behaviors.

Here are some key features of the STRIDE program:

  • Holistic Development: STRIDE combines physical training with lessons on topics such as teamwork, leadership, and respect, helping boys develop both physically and emotionally.

  • Curriculum: The program usually spans several weeks and includes discussions and activities that encourage self-reflection and growth in various life skills.

  • Physical Activity: Participants engage in running and other physical activities, which promote fitness and provide a fun way to stay active.

  • Community Building: STRIDE emphasizes the importance of building friendships and a supportive community among participants.

  • End-of-Season Event: Like Girls on the Run, STRIDE often culminates in a celebratory event, such as a 5K run, where participants can showcase their accomplishments and the skills they've developed throughout the program.

Overall, STRIDE focuses on encouraging boys to lead healthy, active lives while fostering personal growth and social responsibility.
